TTC 004: Financial Markets Institutions and Practices

The objective of the Financial Markets Institutions and Practices Programme is to provide attendees with knowledge and information on the vast range of financial institutions in the global financial markets and how they interact.

There are hundreds of different institutions that make up the finance and financial markets industry and it is important for newcomers to the industry to know how and why they all interact.

TTC provides this course as a two-day starter course for new recruits to finance businesses and can teach a group as small as three people or as large as 100 people. This type of course is perfect for sixth-form colleges and companies who take on school leavers and undergraduates into their businesses and who need to give them a comprehensive industry overview when they start. TTC makes this a fun learning experience that attendees seldom forget while providing valuable and important knowledge of the business sector and the market place.

The Programme offers:

  • Useful information of the many financial institutions in the financial markets including regulators, central banks, brokers, ratings agencies, clearers, risk management companies, exchanges, insurance companies, reinsurance companies, trading companies, hedge funds, money managers, pension funds, market data vendors, financial software vendors, etc
  • Detailed analysis of three or four of these organisations with case studies and examples as to their use, risks and regulatory oversight
  • A role-playing exercise to give attendees first-hand experience of the types of roles that workers in these institutions play

Testimonials

"I chose to study the Finance Trading Programme (FTP) as I wanted to get a more hands-on approach on complex financial topics. During normal lectures, we don’t have the time to see whether the theories we learn are applicable to the real world, and if they are, how. The Trading Programme provides me with the practical tools that I will need in the real world to analyse the markets and based on that, take trades." - MSc Investment and Finance Student
